The Hall of Fame is the Society’s way of ensuring that the membership cherish and remember the example of leading members who have contributed significantly to the development of the Society over a lengthy period.
The intention is that the name of one former member, from any era in the Society’s long history, may be nominated annually by the Committee to be inducted onto the Hall of Fame by an open vote at the AGM. Members are encouraged to nominate prospective inductees during the course of the year. The inductees will typically be either deceased former members of the Society or, exceptionally, living members who have retired from active participation in the Society after a period of particularly distinguished service and for whom life membership alone would be insufficient recognition.
